The scale of the pH<\/a> ranges from 1 for more acidic substances to 14 for more alkaline substances. The neutral pH is 7 and corresponds to distilled water. The colours of the pH scale depend only on the standard being used.<\/p>\n These are called acidic substances, which are substances that have an acidic or acidic pH less than 7<\/strong> have a number of common properties that make them very easy to distinguish:<\/p>\n Substances with pH greater than 7<\/strong>These are the so-called alkaline or basic substances and also have common characteristics, which are:<\/p>\n Some examples<\/strong> of known bases are bleach, ammonia, detergent, sodium hydroxide.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
